Huamachuco and Marcahuamachuco ruins

They were founded by Augustin priests. Huamachuco is organized around an immense square, where a very modern church stands. Around the city, you can visit the pre-Inca fortification ruins called Marcahuamachuco. 400 B.C. The civilization that lived there was  isolated from the other surroundings cultures, as the place was  built in circular edifices, more or less larges, surrounded by very high protection walls. The interest of this site stands on its originality in comparison with other pre-Inca sites of the region.
